Our route took us into the 16 parishes covered by the newly launched Upper Eden First Responders. We wanted to raise awareness of the group and hopefully attract more people to step forward to join the 15 fully trained volunteers they have at the moment. We raised over £2000, inclding £350 from the Ceilidh and donated £600 each to Great North Air Ambulance and Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue. This was all 'Gift Aided so they will be able to claim the tax back. We added a bit extra to the remainder, making it up to £895 which bought a defibulator for First Responders who will get matched funding so they will have two additional defibulators. |
